The Power of Global Community Connections

An artisan holds up a roll of fabric. The background is a painted blue and white wall.

Celebrating 20 years of operation, Mercado Global marks this milestone with the expansion of its MART program to Honduras in collaboration with CEPUDO. This partnership has introduced rich, impactful textiles featured in our SS24 collection, AURA.

These textiles symbolize the strength and creativity of Indigenous women, highlighting the importance of women's empowerment.

We extend our gratitude to CEPUDO and Food for the Poor for their support in this initiative.

"We are happy to know that our creations will reach people all over the world through the bags that Mercado Global makes with the fabric we send them."

-Teresa Domínguez, President of the Lencas Artisans Group

International Day of Cooperatives

Artisans pose for a photo indoors in front of wooden supplies

July 6th marks International Day of Cooperatives, a perfect time to celebrate the women cooperatives we work with in Central America.

These cooperatives empower artisans with democratic, sustainable business models, breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering economic independence for women and their families. Women-led cooperatives are key to driving positive change in the regions we serve!
