Development Database & Donor Relations Coordinator

You will work closely with our Senior Development Manager to track engagements, manage our CRM, and ensure that every donor interaction — from an initial outreach to a multi-year givingrelationship — is handled with care and precision. Position Overview
The Development Database & Donor Relations Coordinator is a critical right-hand position toour Senior Development Manager. You will own our Salesforce database, support donorcommunications and outreach, and help ensure our fundraising operations are efficient,accurate, and mission-aligned.

Key Responsibilities
Salesforce & Data Management
● Manage all donation entry across platforms including Salesforce, Paybee, and Donorboxwith accuracy and timeliness
● Enter and maintain donor information, meeting debriefs, and campaign data
● Set up donor flags, campaigns, and engagement plans
● Pull pipeline reports and surface data-driven insights for the development team
● Send acknowledgement letters accurately and on time
Donor Relations & Outreach Support
● Manage relationships with a portfolio of smaller donors and all monthly donors, ensuring each feels valued and connected to the mission
● Draft and send timely, personalized acknowledgement letters and donor correspondence
● Support outreach pipelines and serve as backup on donor communications — draftingemails and debriefs as needed
● Begin building your own relationships within Mercado Global’s donor and supporternetwork over time
Qualifications
Required
● 2–3 years of CRM experience in a nonprofit development context (not marketing orsales) — Salesforce strongly preferred
● Strong relationship management skills — executive presence and appropriate writtendevelopment communications
● Self-starter with strong initiative — you anticipate needs and take ownership withoutbeing asked
● Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
● Strong written communication skills — confident drafting donor-facing emails, letters,and reports
● Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines without hand-holding
● Passion for Mercado Global’s mission
● Fluency in English required; Spanish preferred
Preferred
● Experience in a nonprofit development or fundraising environment
● Familiarity with donor acknowledgement processes and gift processing
● Familiarity with Paybee and/or Donorbox
● Prefer Guatemala-based candidates, butopen to candidates working in other parts of Latin America

Key Responsibilities
Donor Relationship Management & Support
● Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors with a focus on the Bay Area market
● Support Senior Manager and Executive Director on working with donors — updatingpipelines and ensuring consistent, thoughtful follow-up
● Draft high-quality donor communications including emails, letters, donor reports, andmeeting debriefs as needed
● Support Senior Manager on managing host committee relationships and honoreecoordination
Donor Committee Support
● Support managing the Impact Council (Mercado Global’s Junior Board)
● Support packet preparation for Board Committees and Host Committees as needed
Auction & Event Support
● Manage auction item recruitment for our annual Galas
● Support gala and event logistics as needed
CRM & Reporting
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in Salesforce (or equivalent CRM)
● Track outreach activity, pipeline progress, and donor engagement across your portfolio
● Surface insights and flag opportunities to the Senior Development Manager
● Leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency and personalization across communications and workflow
Qualifications
Required
● Demonstrated experience in donor stewardship — strong communication skills,relationship management, and a solid understanding of fundraising
● Proven track record of raising funds or supporting donor portfolios
● Exceptional written communication skills — confident drafting donor-facing emails,letters, and reports
● Comfort and proficiency with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to optimize workflowand communications
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
● Self-starter with strong initiative — you take ownership without being asked

Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Designer, the Design Intern will be based in our office in Panajachel, Guatemala, or remotely. The intern will gain valuable experience in design processes, production processes, and logistics, as well as broad exposure to both the social enterprise and fashion industries. Position Overview
Reporting to and working closely with the Development Associate, the Photography Intern supports content creation through storytelling, photography and filmmaking.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating audiovisual content for social media and website, aligning to Mercado Global’s message
- Photo and video editing
- Conduct interviews with artisans and office team members and make transcripts.
- Support product photography when necessary.
- Work with marketing team to support social media strategy
- Work with community development team to strategically develop content in line with marketing and fundraising goals
Key Requirements
- Verifiable studies or experience in photography/filmmaking
- Proficient in Photoshop, Lightroom or similar software
- Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, power director 365, DaVinci Resolve, or other Own equipment
- Native or Professional working proficiency in Spanish
- Lives in or is willing to relocate to Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
